25 Things About Me

DSCN13621. I drive a pick-up truck because my brother is still here today because he was driving a pick-up truck when he was in a auto accident just over 10 years ago. I refuse to drive a car and I will always drive a truck or an SUV for that reason. It’s a mental comfort thing for me. Besides… everyone needs to know someone who drives a truck when its time to move… right? ;)

2. I have a cats, which is funny since I always considered myself a dog person growing up. Now, I can’t imagine not having my boy.

3. I was born and raised in Texas. I will always be a Texan. But Nashville is home to me now, and I absolutely LOVE it. I love my city and (most of) the people in it.

4. I am a Texas A&M Aggie, and I am proud of my school. I believe I wanted to go there since the day I was born, and the day I received my diploma from the University is without a doubt one of my greatest accomplishments in my life. My grandpa worked there. My uncle worked there. My dad attended there. This school is in my blood.

5. I like beer. I’ve become a beer snob. I blame credit my husband for this.

6. My husband is without a doubt my best friend, other half and soul mate. I don’t have words for how blessed and thankful I am for him every single day of my life.

7. The church we got married in is the same church where my parents and both sets of my grandparents got married.

8. I am a Catholic, and I lean heavily on my faith to get through life.

9. Everything happens for a reason is my motto and mantra.

10. I stay up all night most nights. It’s just my body clock, and as hard as I try to adjust it I still end up staying up all night. I just sneak a nap when I can to compensate. To be honest, I’ve been like this since high school. I regularly went to bed around 1 or 2 (sometimes 3) back then. And through the years its just worked its way to later and later. Fighting it just makes me feel bad physically. So, might as well go with it and be productive when I am at my best!

11. I don’t have a TV show I am hooked on anymore. My schedule is so wacky, I just can’t settle in to get into anything. Maybe when we get a DVR that can change. Until then, I’m pretty clueless about that area of pop culture.

12. I’ve gotten into photography lately, but its something I’ve had interest in since high school. I wish I’d followed my gut and taken photography classes in college. I’m enjoying teaching myself these days, and my big ticket purchase goal for 2009 is a super good camera.

13. I sweat the small stuff, but keep cool in the big stuff.

14. My nephew is without a doubt my #1 hero. What he faces every day of his life (he has Muscular Dystrophy) without complaint or letting it ever be a “crutch” amazes me and makes me want to be more like that myself.

15. I worry too much.

16. I like to sit back, listen and watch. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is close your mouth, push away your thoughts, and just take in your environment. People watching and eaves dropping can be the best teachers about human interaction, people and life. Learning from others can save you a lot of heartache in your own life.

17. My hair is my big appearance obsession. Always has been. I admit that I spend way too much time thinking about it, even if it doesn’t seem like it much of the time.

18. Jeans are the bane of my existence (they are always either too short, too expensive or too easy to shrink), but I also think they are also the best creation ever.

19. I could eat Mexican food ALMOST every day, but after having it in Texas it takes me awhile to really enjoy the Nashville version of Mexican food again.

20. I got my navel pierced on Valentines Day in 2004 in a fit of pride of being single and free to do that if I wanted to do it. Sadly, a few weeks ago, I had to take my piercing out due to it migrating. I’m pretty sure I’ll get it re-pierced once it heals up completely.

21. I want to have our first child before I am 30 (which is approaching fast). I want to have our first child before I am 31. I can’t wait to be a Mom… even if its also one of the scariest things ever!

22. I’ve become more cynical about the music business, and yet I still believe in it and the dreams that so many have for a live of music… but then doesn’t that describe almost everyone in Nashville? (Go listen to Jason Aldean’s “Crazy Town.” It’s all too true about this town…)

23. I hate math, but I sincerely enjoy helping my parents put tax returns together. It makes no sense, but its true!

24. The older I get, the less I realize I know.

25. I’m on the internet way too much. It’s pretty sad really. At least I admit it.
